Vacation recap: part 2

Oregon edition:

We LOVE to visit Oregon- especially in the summer, especially for the 4th of July, especially when the house is FULL!

We loved:
  •  just being on the homestead, enjoying the grass, garden, sandbox, swing, merry-go round, car rides in the field and scooters in the driveway (and in the house).
  • trip to the lake for water skiing, wake boarding (it had been way too long and I couldn't wipe the smile off my face), taking Asher tubing for the first time and wishing Ivy would be brave enough to even get on the boat.
  • Parade downtown with the kids, naps, sparklers in the yard and fireworks at the ball field (minimal traffic- maximum enjoyment.)
  • S'more cook off with lots of deliciousness (my faves were triscuits instead of grahams mmm sweet and salty, and the addition of peanut butter, not really diggin the bacon.  Also loved the lemon curd) and fabulous musical entertainment (but sadly missing John- especially on the 4th).
  • Floating the river with Matt as our guide and watching Asher experience his first "white water"- so cute (and cold)!
  • simple favorites of the kids: watering the grass, playing marbles, reading books, dancing, feeding the cows, the shop, mowing the lawn, visiting the preschool.
  • Being with Nanna, Grumpa, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Hassells and friends.
  • good food and good fun!
didn't love:
  • leaving
