This is a shout out to all my friends who were lucky enough to have fond memories of a sack lunches similar to this (I opted to leave the "mystery meat" out of the pita). I had fun reminiscing about some happy memories. Bring back any fun memory for you?

Oh Jerusalem. I also loved that they only gave you plastic silverware. Now how are you going to slice a tomato and cucumber with a plastic knife? Thank goodness i was able to take my pocket knife most places.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of how HOT I usually was on the field trips. Just sitting there, eating lunch, with sweat running down my back. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw the picture I knew exactly what you were talking about. I can still smell the mystery meat. I am so happy that you are enjoying Dubai. Take care.

Oh the memories of the JC. What great memories. I have to admit, I loved the cucumbers, because they are my favorite food. I would trade people at lunch for theirs. Thanks for the fond memory.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED those lunches. Maybe because by the time I sat down to eat I was so exhausted. I was just happy to sit. and that little brown bag...made me feel so loved. I grow those same cucumbers because they bring me a smile.
ReplyDeleteThat mystery meat was removed from every pita sandwich I was given. Yuck. But I loved eating cucumbers and tomatoes like apples and I have yet to find pita comparable to that of the Old City. Great memories.
