the other side of the world

John is interviewing for jobs and he has a second round of interviews in Dubai this week. The company offered to fly me out too and since Ivy is only 5 months old, we're both going. Asher is staying behind with Nana and Grandpa and he gets to go to 3 days of preschool this week instead of just two!!! I'm sure he'll have a great time, and I know he'll be well taken care of, it's me I'm worried about. Asher will be 3 in December and the only time I've been away from him overnight was when I was in the hospital with Ivy (doesn't count really) and when John took him camping in June (one night). I am happy to have the time and so grateful to have Claude and Lesley willing to help out, I'm just thinking that flying half way around the world is quite the jump in seperation. Everyone just pray that we're all safe and back together again next week. I'll be sure to do and see as much as I can and to try and get a feel for what it would be like to live over there. I'll report when I return (or from our hotel room over there if I have access). Good night!!

flight details: Medford to Portland, Portland to Frankfurt, Frankfurt to Dubai. Leave tomorrow morning arriving in Dubai Tuesday evening (Dubai time).

  1. I just left a comment, but I don't think it worked! So sorry if there's two. Anyway, Dubai? Holy crap, that's far. But a good adventure for you guys. I'm anxious to hear about it, I'm sure Asher will be fine while you're gone.
